At the top of Capture, pick where this phone/device usually sits — Fridge, Freezer, Pantry, or Cabinets. Entries you speak here default to that location unless you say a different one out loud.

Press and hold the mic, say what changed, then release. A few real examples:

• "Add two bags of sugar"
• "Used the last of the peanut butter" — sets it to zero
• "Took two, leaving three cans of beans" — sets the total to 3, not -2
• "Add three cans of beans to the fridge" — overrides this device's default location just for that entry

The parsed result appears below the mic — check it, edit any field by hand if it's wrong, then tap Save.

Got several things to log at once? Instead of holding, just tap the mic — it switches to a running list where each pause you take starts a new item, so you can rattle off "two bags sugar… one jar honey… three cans beans…" and review or fix each one before saving. Tap the mic again (or press Stop) whenever you're done.

• Added — increases the count (bought more, restocked)
• Removed — decreases the count (used some, threw something out)
• Updated — sets the exact count, replacing whatever was tracked before (use this after a manual recount, or to correct a mistake)
• Grocery List — adds something to your Shopping List without touching inventory counts (for things you want to buy that aren't already stocked)

Inventory shows everything currently in stock, filterable by location or search. Shopping List shows anything out of stock plus anything you explicitly added via "Grocery List" — tap an item there to clear it once it's bought.

The fastest way to load your whole pantry at once. Tap Start and read off everything you own with a natural pause between items — no action word needed, everything defaults to Added. Review the list before saving; you can edit or remove any row first.

For bulk-loading from a spreadsheet, backing up your data, or round-tripping through Google Sheets. This is meant for people comfortable poking at a CSV or a sheet directly — imported rows land in the Bulk review list so nothing hits your inventory until you tap Save.

Everyone signs in with the same email and password — there's no separate account per person. Any device, any family member, all edits show up for everyone since it's the same underlying data.

Voice capture relies on a feature Apple only grants to Safari itself — even other iPhone browsers built on the same engine, like Chrome, don't get access to it. If Chrome (or another non-Safari browser) is your default, a quick one-time fix makes this permanent:

• Open this app's link in Safari specifically (not your default browser) — just this once
• Tap the Share icon, then Add to Home Screen
• From now on, always open the app from that home screen icon, not a link — it runs independently of whatever your default browser is set to, so voice works every time
